03 Pre- i4 2.7 or 6 cyl?

Looking at buying an '03 2wd std.cab auto PreRunner with the 2.7 4 cyl. Any thoughts on whether the 6 cyl. would make a big deal of difference? Using the Taco for my daily driver, mostly local, but with some long drives to AZ, NV, Northern CA, etc. Test drove the 4, it seemed fine, didn't lug or drag or anything... It also has a hard locking tonneau cover so it seems like a great weekender as well...

 

I have a 2.7L with some 32s, and I do just fine. so a regular cab with stock tires will fare even better.
I would recommend you do the deckplate mod as well. if you do not know what that is already check on this forum or just ask.

2.7 is fine for what you mentioned. I have doublecab 2.7 2004. I bought it for little hauling and camping trips and I use it for daily driving. Get the v6 if you plan to tow a lot and use it more to haul more heavier stuff.

 

Funny you mentioned that. My 2000 2.4 model manual, picks up faster on uphill driving than my 2.7.
