2002 Tacoma Airbag Light

Hi all,

The airbag light on my 2002 Tacoma PreRunner is on. I've read a few post that talk about shorting 'two pins' and counting the pulses of the airbag light to determine the error code. I can't, however, fine the instructions as to what two pins to short and how to determine what the pulse sequence represents in terms of an error code. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Horn does (I use it often), but I am not sure about the cruise control .... are you thinking a fuse?

It is a possibility, even with the horn and cruise control working. I know that this is one of the items tested, but without and error code, I can't tell.

x2 ... that's the wire assembly that carries signals for airbag, horn, cruise, and any other steering wheel mounted controls. You might have noticed the wheel squeaking at full lock, particularly in cold weather. The beginnings of clock spring failure.

Replacing it requires removal of the air bag, so it's somewhat dangerous to do. Best left to a mechanic.

Thank you guys. This is all good stuff, but does not answer my question. I need to know what two pins I need to jump in order to be able to reset the airbag light and to 'reed' the error code. Anyone?

Get an OBDII scanner to read it...Not sure about jumping pins..
