Hideous looking brake dust

I have copious amonuts of brake dust on my front rims and can't find anything to cut through it and clean it off. Its about three or four shades darker than the picture I'm about to post. The old pads were horrible, I changed them obviously but the build up from the old pads is killing me. It just makes my truck look like I don't care about. Anybody know of any outstanding products, mixtures, types of explosives to best get rid of it?

 

use an industrial grade stainless steel cleaner

 

I use Super Clean from wallyworld. MAKE sure you dilute it.

 

Eagle One tire/wheel cleaner in the can (not the bottle) is the best thing I have found for cleaning wheels. Once you get them clean you need to seal them up with wax or something similar.

 

Yes they're aluminum, don't know what brand they are though. They were on the truck when I bought it and I like the look. I tried window cleaner and a wide range of regular products but this stuff is ON there. I heard simple green works, any word on that?

 

I've used Simple Green and that works good for me.

I use black magic no scrub wheel cleaner.. makes it so most break dust wipes right off! I <3 it

 

Wheel dust is cool, Shit man I get wheel dust after 1hr or driving! but I can Freaking stop now.
Simple green works, but like above, becareful about the aluminum.

 

Hit it with WD-40, and a good nylon brush just to break the stubborn dust loose for starters. After that take your choice of soap and wash it clean. Works for me.

 

Thanks for all the helpful info, its just gotten out of hand and it kills me everytime I look at it. I don't mind having a dirty exterior but that brake dust just makes it look like I don't do upkeep. I'll try some of y'alls suggestions and use explosives only as a last resort. Lol Thanks again.

 

I used to use Wonder Wheels in England - that stuff is awesome. Dunno if it's available here.
