Today I went to the local scrapyard and picked some parts outta a 2000 4Runner that was C4C.

I got a ignition light ring that fits perfect where the tacoma one goes.

Of course Satoshi! I think that would look sick man. Wish I could make good junkyard finds like that around here. Much luck with your mods, be sure to post pics of the goodness after the fact.

i cant say ive ever seen that done before, but im not sure as to how it would turn out. the <01s arent really my specialty but i think it would be pretty decent.

i just wish i found cool stuff like this at junkyards. in all of massachusetts, ive found 2 gen 1 tacomas. both are about 1 1/2 hours away in opposite directions.

Gray wire, Some lights in the bed area, and some character marks throughout.
Wouldn't you want to wire it into your dome lights so it comes on when you open the door? That is how I would wire it, unless you want it on all the time.

I know in my old car the ring would stay on for a while after I got out of the car. I never stood there and timed it so I don't know how long it lasted. Not sure how you would hook it up to do that either. But if i was going to install it i would hook in with the door/dome light.

So you didn't have to change the bezel on the Tacoma? Did you just take the old part off around the ignition and add the new on from the 4Runner with the bezel?

What does C4C mean? When you said you got the ignition light ring out of a 2000 4Runner C4C

I hate to raise this thread from the dead but I haven't seen anyone else do this mod.

Did you need to replace the whole key or can you just add the light ring? Also what did you wire it to?
