Hey, ya'll. Created this account primarily out of need for some advice, but I certainly hope to get to know everyone a little better.

A year or so ago, on my way to a DEP call, the cruise control lever came loose, for some reason. I was going to deal with it later, but because it would wobble around, the contacts were bumping together causing me to accelerate unexpectedly. Mind you, the cruise was turned off, which had me worried. Rather than risk an accident, I just severed the wires forcefully, on the spot. Upon a closer look at the two or three parts that came out, they don't look to be broken, but just came undone, somehow.

Anyway, I'm getting tired of having to keep my foot on the gas pedal for 30 minutes to an hour at a time, and was looking for some advice on taking the airbag off. I located the two Allen-head screws on either side of the steering wheel right off the bat, but I don't know what precautions to take.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Those should be the only bolts holding on. Try to pry it out carefully and DISCONNECT THE BATTERY!

So, disconnect the battery, then take it out carefully, or is there anything else I need to unplug to avoid it going off?
