This mod is similar to Alternating Turn Signal/Side Markers (#27), but doesn't use relays!

From what I can tell the side markers blink with the turn signals when they are off, and opposite of the turn signals when the parking lights are turned on. I'm not sure yet as I haven't done it yet. Will post up after I try it.

    Parts:
    • 2 pieces of wire
    • 2 butt connectors
    • 2 quick splices
    • shrink tube, electrical tape, etc
Just cut the black/white wire on the side markers in half and splice it into the Green/Black on left. For the right cut the black/white and splice to Green/yellow.

Do all of these turn signal mods need extra parts and stuff? Or is it just hooking up wires with wires? My Tacoma was bought rebuilt but things are still a little banged up. Will this make it more difficult to do the mods?

Just switching the wires accomplishes the goal of making them the blinkers. Most put in brighter bulbs and resistors to stop the hyperblink. This also sets you up for the fog light mod.

Behind your side marker lights youl see a loom. Open up loom and you find a set of wires going to blinkers and a set going to marker lights (youl have 1 extra on passenger side for the horn). All you have to do is cut both positives (both green with a stripe if i remember right) and switch them. Leave the ground wires alone.

Toyota wiring sux. Both parking and bumper don't light at the same time. Made me blow a fuse again. It's useless just having park blinkers they're too dim. I had cut the green parking wire and mixed it up with the green blinker/ bumper one but they only worked together during hazard lighting. I mixed the white/black wire from parking pair to blinker green and I think that caused the short to twilight lighting. Just decided to put everything how it came at first. Now only my bumper light are blinkers again

    What
What are you trying to accomplish? That mod is to make the park lights the blinkers for people with aftermarket bumpers and for making the signals fog lights.

Just hook both lights up to the blinker wires. Dont hook anything up to park light wires.

The original blinker is the bumper/ fog light do I have to use the white wires? I read you shouldn't touch those. I hooked up the greens with a white and it blowed a fuse before

You can look and see what color wires run into the socket. Its just as simple as connecting them to the park lights or whatever else you want to come one with them.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but...
Just want to clarify this mod. My 04 Tacoma has the following wires: (Left/drivers) Green/black stripe & White/Black stripe then (Right/pass.) Green/white strip & Gray/Black stripe. So this mod is as simple as cutting the Green w/stripe wires and swapping and connecting them. The question I have is that I currently have an ARB bumper, but going to replace with another aftermarket bumper with no turn lighting. What should I do with the old marker wire? Does the circuit need to be complete for the mod to work? In other words, I will only have the marker light converted to a double duty marker/turn signal.
Wow! That took a lot to "slpain" :D
    Thanks for your input!!!

they can only be either park lights or signals. not both. atleast not without a switchback led/circuit.

Yeah, after I posted I realized that's not what I wanted. I'm wanted both marker & signal. Guess I'll need to do the add bulb mod. So I believe I need to buy sockets & bulbs. My original stock turn signals are long gone.
    Please chime in with advice.
    Thanks gang!!
