I am looking for reputable mechanics in the New England area who are familiar with working on Tacoma's and don't charge as much as the dealers.

Had a CEL that was coming on and off and brought it in to the dealer to check and they said it was an o2 sensor and something about a vacuums leak and said it would be $550 to fix. I am coming up on 90k miles as well and am not looking forward to having to have my timing belt replaced.

The dealer didn't charge me for the diagnosis and was checking with my warranty company to see if they would cover it, but they don't so I'm looking for other options.

    Thanks

I know this post is old but I have to help ya out. It's a bit of a hike from nantucket but Weeds Automotive in Concord, NH is great. I used to bring my 98 taco there and now that I have a 2001, I'll be bringing that one there was well.
