I have a 97 taco with 4.10's, my rear end blew last week but I have a 85 toyota 4wd with the same ratio and was wondering if the rear end of the 85' could bolt in or how much modification is needed:confused:

The axle width of the 85 is 3" shorter.

You would have to relocate your leaf mounts, e-brake cable mounts, shock mounts, the drive shaft mounting flange might need redone, the drive angle would need changed, on top of your spacers for the wheels. It would be quicker and faster to find an axle from a 95.5-04 junked taco and swap it.
