battery light flashing on dash?

    Does anyone know what could be causing my battery light on the dash to blink once in awhile. The truck seems to start and run fine. Its a 96 tacoma 4x4

    Yeah, most auto parts stores will do it free. Check your battery terminals too for corrosion and tightness.

    battery is about 6 years old, maybe more. I would have to check. It is a pep boys replacement. It cranks fine though.

    TRD sport pkg, Towing Pkg, Ham radio installation, bed lights, front 32 inch LED Bar behind the grill.
    Use to be 7 years on a automotive battery was about the extent of a batteries life. At 6 years old you might consider replacement of it. Depending on where you live a good cold snap will tell the tale of how good a battery is. I had one that had a shorted cell, took a diode out of the alternator but still cranked pretty well so far as I remember. That was in a 1966 Pontiac Grad Prix though.
    If the alternator checks out and the drive belt has some age you might replace it to.
