Did the deck plate mod today. Truck sounds great now and seems to have a quicker throttle response. Hopefully I'll see an increase in MPG also!

Put my dechromed tacoma badges back on the doors. Did a complete front end check(balljoints, tie rods, etc) all is well. Getting ready to put the lift kit in next weekend. Going out to wash it right now since the sun is down below the tree line.

You're welcome. You should have included a picture with the Fog Lights ON! We were able to do the fog lights only MOD as well! How sweet it looks.

I changed out the sides (1 piece) of my center console to a black piece. I kinda like it with the look of a silver long sleek center piece. I'll eventually get a black center piece for the touch screen stereo/dvd/navigational and swap out the a/c controls for a back one too. For now, this is what I've got. Very simple. I even had to under the cluster section above the steering to swap that piece out.

What do you think?

They stick out just a touch more than stock wheels. These wheels have more of a lip on them too.

I went and "tested" my new set-up out on some little trails....nothing too difficult for the pee-runner...

Sorry for the huge pic

Installed the Grillcraft and made a light bar to hold the Hella 500FF's behind the grill.

Nice and Clean! I Like!
Got me thinking now.....
Does that effect the coolling system at all in the grill like that?
What size are those Hellas? 6.5"Rnds?

Has anyone seen someone do 4 across the grill?

I am currently running 2xWestin 5.5"Rnds on the safari bar, but I dont like the way they are totally exposed especially when uncovered for use. Behind that mesh grill would certainly protect them more, plus gets them higher for more light travel down the trail/road. I was wondering if Doing x4 in the grill would help or hurt, especially with the cooling system.

I'm certainly no expert, but I don't think two 6.5" lights behind the grill will effect the cooling. Trying to squeeze four of those bastards behind the grill would, however, be nearly impossible. There just isn't very much room to work with behind the grill on the older generation trucks. In fact, I really didn't want the lights so close together but space dictated otherwise.

I've seen this setup on plenty of 2nd generations trucks but only on one or two first gens. Hopefully someone else will stand up with pics to show how us first gen owners can mount lights behind our Grillcrafts.

I should have paid more attention when I had the grill off to paint over the chrome.... From your pics it looks like there is plenty of space to fit 4x 5.5"s. Maybe I'm a bit of a dreamer...

I just don't know if I could part with the Stock Grill, I am kinda fond of it. But more lighting options may over rule looks.

Broke a front axle in half.. nice huh? Haven't taken it apart to see what really gave out (its too f*cking hot out!!) ... its almost too clean of a break to be a broken shaft, I'm thinking it is probably the connection between the shaft and the outer CV that gave out somehow.

In deep slippery mud up to about the bottom of the truck, tire was spinning a little and caught traction and snap.

Not even fast enough to kick mud up onto the back of the truck so it wasn't too much skinny pedal... sucks. New shaft is on the way though.
