Drive something without a clock and see how back that sucks... If I still have it I will trade you by black trim panel for yours with a clock... Then the clock will not be bothering you any longer.

I took the front cover plate off mine, took out the Green bulb and put in a clear bulb and its now white lights...

It cost me about $0.68 at Napa for a new bulb... HUGE Mod... and I was able to get it done in ONE weekend.

Depending on your year, some of the 1st gens have an orange filter in the instrument cluster.

In mine you could also just unplug the sensor under the drivers seat. I noticed the light didn't come on when I had forgotten to plug it back in after changing my carpet. :)

It really isn't that hard. Your just replacing bulbs. Only issue you could have with LED's is putting them in with the polarity backwards. So, it's a good idea to plug the instrument cluster back in before you reassemble the dash and make sure all the lights come on.

gona revive this, I realized a trend, the 98-00's have a white cluster with condoms on the lights, 01-04 has a condom, AND the back of the cluster has an orangeish film, so when I put a clear bulb I get a peach color which is totally lame!

I want blue and red like vw/audi colors, not sure what to do though...

I think you'd have to take them to a decal shop and have them make you new faces. Either clear, or with the color of filter you want.

Dash & heater panel LEDs, stereo & speaker upgrades, 2004 side mirrors, Safe-T-Cap mid-frame section repair kits.
LEDs made a huge difference in my dash and AC/heater panel:

The LEDs do not dim but I'm fine with that.

Interesting. Mine dim, they just shut off when they are still fairly bright.

Hey leadgolem have a question where would you get the incandescent bulbs if you were to do that. Cause i have 1st gen and thinking about doing this just dont want it to look dumb. Would you say just get the natural white or the blue.

fun stuff coming soon! New battery, radiator and CV joints and axles. Added some Rancho RS5000 shocks.
How difficult would be it be to do that to a 95 pickup?
