Any body have any experience doing this with the 2.7L ? Will it give about the same HP increase and a deeper growl?

I'm going to end up doing this regardless of the responses but I figured I'd listen to what people have to say from experience. :)

I did it on my 2.7L but I also pulled the elbow off the side of the airbox. I love it, it seems to work great and it sounds sweet at the same time... so, YES it does work for the 2.7L

so you did both the elbow and deck plate mod? how did this work out? did you do one before the other and find a noticeable difference when doing both?

Yeah i did both at the same time... I might put the elbow back on and see if there is any difference... I also blocked off the "silencer" if that's what it even is...

you remove the piece of piping that comes out of the left of the airbox into the fender. this eliminates the 90 degree curve in there that causes air restriction

I did both, put the elbow back on and didn't notice any difference, also didn't notice a difference between the silencer blocked/unblocked. I do notice a difference when I put the plate in though. I think the biggest drawback to removing the elbow is you can't put it back in quickly.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
Im leaving my elbow on. That way I can close the deck plate mod for when Im hitting serious mud/water. The elbow adds some good protection for your intake.

i used sealer and 2 small locking nuts and 2 short bolts so it doesnt spin when you screw the plate in and out.

The sealer is just that, a sealer. You will need to use screws to hold it in place & not spin if you take the plate in & out.
