painting over roof sun damage

i have a 00 tacoma in black and over the years the roof has about 6 hand-sized sun oxidation marks and i tried alot to get it off or better but not much worked. so i am thinking about painting the roof with some duplicolor spray can paint i doesnt have to look perfect but i know it willl look alot better and possibly further protect it

what do you guys think???

 

i say go for it man. good cheap way to make it look better. i'd do a lil sanding tho...get the rough spots out and primer first...that way, the paint will stick.
