Removing stock grill from 01 prerunner

Has anyone taken off the stock grill from a 2001 PreRunner? Having some problems. Also, can you buy more of those clips?

i have found it easiest to remove the corner lights....just dangle them outta the way....then push the clipstogether..one side at a time...middle included to remove the grille. as for those clips..they are a pita..but the dealership should have plenty of them.

Appreciate the welcome. How do I remove those side lamps. I've been trying and I'm a little afraid of breaking off more plastic clips and pieces. Any advice?? Thanks again.

 

when i changed my corners to clear corners i had alot of trouble gettin them out at first but i think you just slide them forward and they pretty much come right out.

 

why would you take the grille off a 2001 tacoma, i think the grilles from 2001 to 2004 model years are pretty sick, way better than the one on my 1997

 

I'm not replacing the grill I'm just taking it off to paint it black.

 

i had to take mine off to do the billet insert, it was tricky and i broke a clip for the corner light as well

Welcome, if you pull towards you on the lamp then upward like you were shooting a basket ball it should come out I broke one clip myself so agrivating.
