People say a lot of shit until they need you to pull them out.

And that's why I really don't care what anyone else says. When it comes to having the goods offroad, Tacos walk the walk more than any other truck. They can have all the talk they want.

I do particularly enjoy pointing out to 05 to 07 V8 Dakota owners that my 6 cylinder has more hp and a faster 0-60 than their 8.

What I hate the most is when people say that I should have bought American. Yes I really want another American POS after my American POS truck failed constantly.

All of my friends keep telling me how badass my truck is. But, being from Texas and close to Ft. Worth, my school contains the usual dipshit wannabe rednecks with lifted chevys that I always hear talking about how awesome they are. I just don't hang out with those losers

I have one friend who always makes fun of my truck calling it "Jap Crap." Went wheeling with him this summer, me in my Tacoma and he in his Grand Cherokee, both stock. I have a 4-door long-bed, which you'd think would be more likely to scrape than a GC, but while my buddy was scraping rocks every few seconds, I think I scraped once the entire 4+ hour trip.

Regardless, I couldn't care less what people say about my truck. I have owned a few Jeeps in my life, and while I still love Jeeps, my Tacoma is the best car/truck I have owned, so anyone else's opinion doesn't matter.

Funny 90% of the vehicle's on the road are toyota, and they didn't need a bail out!! THAT SPEAKS FOR ITSELF!!

just remind people that dodge and chevy required government bailouts to stay afloat. maybe if they built a better product people would buy them.

EXACTLY!! Gawd their ignorance pisses me off. And it's so lame too because they ALL live in the suburbs and just act the way they do because "that's how you live in Texas". And all this crap about Japanese designed vehicles is retarded too, they obviously are smarter than the domestic car guys that need a government bailout. LAME!

I always get people asking to trade.........got my oil changed today and while it was in the bay some chick came in and asked if she could trade her truck for mine....She didnt see me checking my air filter and BSing with the tech in the pit.........She was picking up some old ford POS.........

also a therapist asked a patient a few months ago if he wanted to trade him trucks.......the therapist said "yeah I have that black dakota, wanna trade for your silver tacoma?"

Another physical therapist said "hey I think thats Brocks tacoma"........the other guys truck was some GMC or chevy. Therapist says, "oh nevermind, I thought u had the tacoma". I kinda felt sorry for the guy.

Its cool, but damnit, no body ever comes in wanting to trade for a new beemer or something...that I could sell and buy a taco and some nice add ons yes?

Having some 18ish blonde girl run over and start talking to me aboot the truck was awkward too.....The GF gave me a funny look at first.

The day a friggen Ford, Chevy or Dodge can survive this WITHOUT replacement parts is the day I'll eat some humble pie and admit that they are as good as Tacos. In the meantime all you clowns who make fun of my truck can keep cruising in your money pits while I smile at the sweet smell of rock solid reliability and my o-so-stubbornly immovable resale value.

EDIT: yes it's a Hilux, but the big 3 can offer up any vehicle in their lineup
