Busted leaf springs

Hi, I'm new to the Tacoma forum, I just puchased a 95 extended cab 6 cyl 4x4. I've got a couple of busted leaf springs, and I'm wondering who you'd recomend in the way of venders, and if you've got any suggestions on the install. Any information would be a great help, thanks.

Welcome to TW! Leaf springs are notorious for going bad on 1st gen. tacomas. I would go with a replacement set from wheeler's offroad:

I just replaced mine recently and wasn't after extra lift, just wanted a good set of springs that could handle the occasional heavy load. I went with these:

1995-1997 Tacoma 5 Leaf Spring Set: 459.00/pr
From Wheelers: They give 1 1/2" lift over the stock height. I'm happy with them, still a pretty smooth ride. You may need to use different shocks to accommodate the extra lift I already had the Bilstein 5100s so it wasn't a problem for me.

i haven't ever noticed it until you pointed it out. But something definetly doesn't look right.

 

he is running a custom shackle with the leaf pack...

stock is about 3 inches, eye to eye, this one looks about 6 inches... the longer shackle coupled with the leaf pack helps with articulation and travel, but can lift it up a bit...
