nasty dent on driver's side bed panel, shabby seats, cigarette burned interior roof, missing berf bar pad, cracked rain visor, removed hood scoop, unmentionable stain on back bench?
got enough scratch saved up for some new wheels. I have my mid set on the Pro Comp steel wheels http://www.procomptires.com/truck-jeep-wheels/rock-crawler-series-98-wheels.aspx

Right now the truck has stock 16 inch wheels and 265 tires. Wondering what size wheel to go with. the truck has bilsteins 2.5" lift in the front, and TOYTEC 1.5" AAL in the rear. Would like to put some more meatier tires at a decent price on it as well, perhaps 285's ?

let me know, especially if you went with the pro comp wheels.

    thank you

I'm on my second set of Pro Comps cause they're cheap enough to not worry about getting fubar'd & replace when I need new tires. But I run their alloys & never had steelies.

I always stuck with 16x8. My first set were 265/75/15 with 3-5/8" backspace, now I have 285/75/16 with 4" backspace.

I prefer 16x8 & with the 285s it's a good size. If you want meatier tires go with 15s & 33x12.5 tires but make sure whatever wheels you choose will clear the calipers. IMO 17s are big but I've seen some set ups that look good. Anything over 17 on a 1st gen is too big IMO. 17" tires also cost a lot more than the difference from 15s to 16s.

Backspace is also important when choosing a rim size & type from a specific company. Some companies might not offer the same BS in a 15" & 16" for the same style wheel. If there's a specific BS & rim style you want that Pro Comp does not offer, sometimes a different company like Eagle or American Racing might have them assuming if it's a common style design like RockCrawlers or MT Classic, etc.

If your getting 33's or in that range, be sure to get the right BS for clearance. Too much BS & you'll hit the UCA & or rub the frame. Not enough backspace & it might rub the pinch weld or front valance (if you have one) or will look froggy.

Sorry for butting in but i have the same problem. 16x8 with 4" BS wouldn't stick out too far with 285/70/16 tires?
