So I just bought this truck like 5 days ago--

    2004 tacoma double cab prerunner SR5-- (4cyl automatic 2wd)

when I tell everyone that its a 4cyl they say they didnt even know there is a tacoma with this package and a 4cyl. Does anyone actually own one like this?? im hoping someone didnt slap on the prerunner and trd offroad decal!! makes me think twice when everyone hasnt heard of it. lol let me know. thanks

If it has a locker button on it then its a TRD Off Road, if not then someone put the sticker on it and ripped you off.

I think Toyota did actually make a double cab 4 cylinder TRD model...

But yes, if it has a locker, then it is a TRD.

I'm no expert, but it may not be a stock configuration and could have been ordered from the factory that way. If that's the case, IMO, it's a TRD.

according to edmunds.com they did make this model int he 4cyl and trd as well. (however the e-locker was only available in the v6)

so trd decals are from factory :D

so, what makes it a trd then? Just becase toyota put the sticker on it? I am not dogging your truck at all. But if this is the case then everyone can just throw a sticker on one.
