Tire fitment question

I drive a 04 TRDOR DBL Cab and I just rencently installed this lift I am now looking into replacing all four shocks and getting larger tires. I wasnt sure which shocks to get as I dont offroad too much, but when I do I'd like the extra sense of security being slightly higher off of the ground and some more capable tires than the rugged fails. What do yall think?

on a 1st gen n coil spacers, swap out the TRD coils for nonTRD coils n go with the bilstein HD replacements for the front n some 5125s in 8.5 travel out back...

as for tires stick to 265-75-16...

 

The stockers right now look like donuts. Theyre just so small since I put the 3 inch lift on it

 

I'd go with 285/75/16's

 

dcab sits lower than xcab or reg cab...

would need 4" backspace to run that size, which means more money on either wheel spacers or new wheels if running on stock rims... plus, MPG is going to suck your wallet dry going that big a tire...

try out 265-75s first and see how that suits you before you go dropping money deeper into the pit...

how do guys find your gas mileage with the 285/75/16 ?, is it worth it. im undecided whether to go 285/75/16 or 265/75/16 instead.

 

How did the 285's affect your gas mileage?
I am planning on using wheel spacers along with the new tires

How much lower does the dbl cab sit than a xtra or reg cab?

 

My gas mileage only dropped 1, mabye 2 MPG when I made the switch from 265's to 285's. Not much at all lost

Like said above, my gas only dropped about 1 to 2 mpg

 

i love the look of the 285's on urs and on evertaco's i think ill go with them whenever these 265/70/16's wear out. I travel about 120 kms to work and back everyday so hopefully it wont affect it to much. 1-2 mpg aint bad.

I don't know about the DoubleCabs sitting lower. Seems like BS to me. I have a DoubleCab with ToyTech 3" and am running 285/75 BFG ATs. No problem with rubbing on the stock rims (I do have aftermarkets now). The only thing I had a problem with rubbing was on the frame right behind the front tire on a full lock turn (no fender rub). My aftermarket rims fixed that (as would a wheel spacer); but like I said, it wasn't a major issue. The only times it really rubbed the frame was when I was parallel parking or something like that where I would turn the steering wheel as far as it would go under extremely low speeds. Nothing during normal driving.

What do you mean? I've never heard of that....

 

I'm surprised it didn't rub on the UCA's with the stocks wheels (that's what everyone has been telling me would happen). Maybe I'll give 285's a try.

 

I bought the spacers just to be safe, i think you might get away with running that size without spacers. The spacers were only 10 bucks so i think there worth it
