Hi guys new here on the forum.. I bought a set of tires from a guy and he threw in a set of these spacers for my 95.5. Well finally after compressing the springs and alot of help and cussing I got the upper ball joint back on. But I dont think something is right... Should my upper A arm be down that far, and it looks like the spindle arm at the upper ball joint is going to hit the coil spring. What do you guys think? This is the right side.. I put the tire back on and put the weight of the truck back on it and it didnt move very much. I havent finished with the drivers side and didnt want to attemp to get it back together until I got some opinions on the right. What do you think?

it looks like a top mount spacer and not a pre load spacer... if thats the case, yes, the upper control arm will sit at that angle with the truck up on jacks...

the spacer adds a few extra inches to the overall length of the strut assembly... it increases the distance between the upper and lower control arms...

to be sure, did you need to take the strut assembly apart to put these spacers on top of the coils or did they attach on top of the coil and strut assembly?

its been a while since i seen a spacer lift up close...

Well from what I was told I didnt have to compress the coils to mount these, but i dang sure had too to get the upper ball joint to mount.. The spacers went on easy, used the factory nuts to mount spacer to the top plate and just turned the shock 180 and it bolted back in place.

then yes, thats a top mount spacers...

they aren't exactly the most effective lifts for 1st gens...

search "top mount spacers" on the various tacoma boards and you will find a number of threads about it...

due to the size of those spacers, your upper control arms will pretty much be maxed out like that, and if you wheel the truck, you risk the same overextension of the lower control arms...

if not careful, you may damage both the upper and lower joints...

Yeah! I hear those type of lifts at that hight are the worst for your U/Lower joints.

ok i already have the aals from toytec. What should I put on the front to run 33x10.50x15s. I cant afford the Ultimate lift right now. Will the OME882 front coil give me enough lift..and do I have to change front shocks with these?

UCA won't soften the ride of the spacer...

if spending all that money on an aftermarket UCA, then do the suspension right from the start...

you can also get away without the UCA on a 1st gen...

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
Go with the 882's w/ OME Nitro front shocks.

hey Nick... i replied to you earlier thinking you were the OP with the 1st gen... noticed you have a 2nd gen...

aftermarket UCAs would benefit you, but with the money for them, consider getting into a full coilover with it to get the most out of your suspension...
