Had 85k on my '03 Tacoma 2.4 l., needed a new muffler. Had one installed, was too loud, especially going up hills. Removed it, put on another make, too loud. What mufflers are recommended for quiet running on the little Tacomas and where can they be sourced? I just hate the rumble I'm getting from these mufflers. My truck has 2 cats, also...the OEM muffler was much more quiet. thanks all,

what two mufflers did you experience? IMO, you should go w/ dynomax super turbo.

I DID get so-called common mufflers that were supposed to be quiet, but they were not. I tried a Busal, no good. Tried a Walker, noisy. Finally settled on one from Foreign Auto Parts, it's OK, but still rumbles.
Is there any little pipe end I can put over the end of the muffler and have that quiet it down? It would make for some back pressure, but that might do it.

Buy an OEM if you dont want it to rumble.
