Quick question for anyone who's done this mod: how well do the 1157's or 1157A's actually cut the fog? I know that a lot of "fog lights" stock or aftermarket, don't really do anything but look cool; I'm looking to get something that does the trick.

And what about changing lenses? I've seen a lot of people saying the stock lenses arent able to support such intense heat.

Anybody able to speak to this?

    Thanks!

one thing i noticed when i did this mod was that my old turn signals which are now the fog lights were orange bulbs. So i went to autozone and bought regular bulbs, the only thing is that now after the mod i noticed my fog lights arent that bright.. Is the brightness dependant on the bulb? SHould i get certain bulbs? which ones?

Another thing, my turn signal is now very dull n a small blinking light located in the headlight.. When turning during day time you cant see it, anyone have this problem?

I'm only interested in having the new "fogs" act as fogs and leave the blinking to the new clear corners I just ordered.
What bulbs can I use to match the 6000K my HID Xenon headlights- 6000K H1's?

I think I'm gonna try this over the weekend. So is there any parts that need to be bought to make this legal and perfect. I know there's the LED resistor to eliminate hyperblink, what about bulbs. Just wanna make sure i get everything done in one try.

Does anyone know the part numbers, brand or whatever for clear Turn signal bulbs and amber clearance light bulbs to where I could do this mod?

I did mine just a tad bit different. I ran a splice off the corner light and used that as a signal to a relay, then grounded the relay to the frame. Then ran 12VDC to the relay and a splice to each unused slot on the turn signals(they are a dual filament bulb factory). I then changed the bulb to white and put yellow tint over the housing. They aren't as bright as the upgrades you guys have done but it looks kinda cool.

The bulb you ran is not that bright, along with that it doesn't get as hot either, the brighter the bulb the hotter the bulb and our housings are plastic so you run the risk of melting them. I know this because I did this DIY mod on a friends DC long before I ever bought mine and a few weeks later he came by and said his bulbs blew out and his housings were black(factory clears mind you). I took it apart and they had melted everything inside, he wanted to use a H3 6500k Xenon light but I told him not too.......then he did and that was the result. Just be careful I would say run LEDs if you want brighter with none of the added heat but the illuminating distance will be shorter.

So I tried to do this mod yesterday. Followed the "easy" method to a T, took my time and made sure of good crimp connections; tested it, and NOTHING worked!!

neither the parking light or blinker would light up at all, and the blinker indicator on my dash stayed on and would not turn off.

I switched the wires back and now the blinker works, but the parking light does not work. Looked at the bulb, its fine..

I didn't have any 12/14 guage wire to use as an extension and used 16guage... could that have been the problem?? I'm usually good with wiring but I'm totally stumped here

easiest mod you just have to take ur time cutting the wires and leaving enough room to swtich them

To me it doesn't serve a purpose just gives it the cool factor. 6k corner and fogs, 5k FX-R projectors.

I did the simple T way with the 921s and everything worked fine. But when I hit the brakes while signaling I get the hyper blink effect. Did I do something wrong???
