when you pop the hood. undo the set screws pull light out of housing and see the wires. As i have read, they are green and white? Some people say you just cut them, swap them and bamm! fog lights.. is there more to it or what?

Naturally you need to change your old turn signals from amber to clear. Other than that it seems to be that easy, unless you want to keep your corner/parking lights operating. That's more involved.

Then you'll need to change things the way I did it - dual filament bulb, socket to accomodate, enlarge hole in housing, re-route wires. There a link in my original thread from the other day. There may be another way but I never found one.

how long did it take u? why do you have to enlarge the whole if all your doing is swapping wires and thats it ?

You're not just swapping wires if you want to keep your corner/parking lights as well as move the turn signal to that location. You need to change the type of bulb. This link explains what I did and it's what I used to do mine Hopefully it will help.

sorry for the ?'s sundevil, im like following you around the threads, haha. so i basicaly get that you need a dual filament bulb and a socket to accommodate it, now how many wires are coming off of that socket and to which wires do i connect it? the green fr the blinker? the green for the fog light?

Here's another link that might help. I believe it's from TW member Janster.

Plus here's a youtube video. I can't pull it up cuz I'm at work but it may be worth a look.

I think I know what you're asking... You can't just switch the wires b/c you still have to have the corner parking lights. You don't change those. You need to reroute the turn signal light wires (in your lower bumper valance) up to the parking corner lights and add the new "turn signal" bulbs up there. So you will have to cut a hole in the corner light housings and add another bulb in each one. Then you will need to add new wires to the lights that you replace in the lower bumper valance. You can hard wire them to a switch inside your cab to have "true" fog lights, or maybe splice into your headlight wires (I haven't tried this). But, what I'm trying to say is that if you just wire in "fog lights" to those holes in the lower bumper, they will only work when you flip your blinker.
You need to first relocate the turn signals into the corner lights and then think about how you want the fog lights to work in the old turn signal location and do the wiring accordingly.

Yes. I moved my turn signals to the corners and spliced into my corner/parking lights and ran it down to the new "fog" lights. This way they are already have a switch and turn on and off with the parking lights.

I know this isnt the best detail but you should get the picture. Is this the correct way that you are talking about? And also it made my "new" turn signals dim but the "newfogs" are nice and bright. let me know if something isnt correct thanks

That's close to what I did. See below, I kept the power (green wire) that originally went to the parking light going to it but tapped into that line and ran it down to the fogs. Is that how you did it? If not it may be why your parking lights are dim. Honestly I don't think mine are as bright as they were. This help?

After several questions for SunDevilTacoma I did this mod last weekend. I took lots of pictures and did a detailed writeup in Microsoft Word. The file is too big to upload and I haven't quite figured out a different/better way to do it.

It includes a parts list, wiring diagram, and LOTS of pictures as well as a detailed writeup. If anyone is interested in it you can PM me your email address and I'll send it to you. Also, if anyone knows of a good way for me to post the writeup please let me know.

EDIT: I retract my offer - the file is also too large to send through hotmail. I'll post again if I can figure something out here...

Thanks for taking the time to do all that, I got started later than I wanted that day and just wanted to get it done. Maybe reducing the number of pics might make it small enough to post? In the mean time you can always post pics of the results.
