OK, you have access to their site, you know 10% discount is likely, you know that CA tax is 8.75%, and you know shipping costs will be involved. If you bought 4-leafs without any other goodies, that would be $439.46, not including shipping, which I imagine could be at least $50, but I am not sure. This is assuming that the 10% applies only to the parts.

So please do your homework before getting all spooled up and volunteering me for the heavy lifting, OK?

I am still looking into it.

10% off on Springs, which include poly-graphite impregnated bushings. 15 orders 15% off.

Shipping for a 4 leaf set to Sacramento would run approx $75.

So, how many people might be in this group buy already. I'm not sure if I need a spring pack or an add a leaf? Even if, $500 isn't alot to spend on a 10 year old tacoma that hasn't cost me much yet. My 2000 has carried a fiberglass shell it's whole life, and I tow my little 15ft camper alot, but only has 85,000 miles, So I'm undeceided on what I need.

Well, there seem to be a lot of people checking it out. YotaDan said 15% off if we get 15 buyers. I am doing my homework and about ready to pull the trigger, and just need to discuss a few details with him before I do an official group buy post. If we can get 15, that adds up to only $390 for a pair of 5-leafs, plus shipping, which is variable.

There is another thread going about this if you haven't seen it yet, and this might help you decide:

How can you tell if your spings are shot? I was looking at mine today and i noticed that they are pretty much level with no load. When i checked online I found a OEM spring set but they looked level too. So im not sure if i need them or not

Mine a pretty level too, maybe have a little arch upwards. So I know my are still good for awhile. But once you start to see them frowning they are shot! So I would think that yours probably have some life left... But dont quote me on that..:)

I think Toyota didn't design much of an arch to begin with. When I got my frame replacement they put on brand new rear springs, and with my cap the brand new, never before used springs where a little less than flat, they bowed up in the middle a very little bit. If brand new ones do that, then old ones that are level with no load should be fine, right? I put in a 1.5 inch AAL and now my springs actually have a bit of an arch, but it didn't lift it 1.5 inches, maybe just an inch.

Mine are pretty much flat with no load. My main clue to something being wrong is axle wrap. Really the only reason i am consitering replacing them. Can't stand that clunk. They say it does not damage the drive train but man.... My struggle is knowing for sure if a new 4 leaf pack will solve this. Pretty sure a 5 pack will but i do not want the 1/5" lift.

I can't tell you about the 4 pack vs 5 pack, but an AAL added to the stock 4 pack definitely helped eliminate axle wrap for me. I'm guessing if you're at level right now a 1.5 inch lift won't make things look too bad, plus it might give you a reason to upgrade the front.

I am noticing a couple thing beyond axle wrap. I just did a 2-hour drive at 70 mph on crappy interstate. I noticed that when going downhill in curves on crappy pavement and expansion joints, the rear end felt loose and hoppy with a real bumpy ride. I think a lot of that could also be the shocks, which are the original billys w/ 105K on them, so it is a little hard to isolate how much the springs are a factor.

From everything I have read and understand, if you have a cap on, the 5-pack is in order to account for the extra ~200 lb constant load.

I have been thinking more and more about the AAL as maybe a better option, but I already initiated a GB for the replacement packs:eek:.

In doing this research, I also decided I want Billy 5100s all around becuase (1) I need new shocks and (2) improved ride qaulity and traction, and (3) they give you the ability to do a little lift to even out any minor lift from the AAL or 5-pack.

So now I am thinking maybe the answer is the AAL and Bilstein 5100s.

    Damn this site.:frusty:
