Ok, I'm not looking to start the infamous '4x4 is better than 4x2' debate. Please, let's stay out of that. I'm a 4x2 PreRunner TRD and I know it's not near as capable as a 4x4. I just want to get a thread started that can be free from all 4x4 comparisons.

So how about some pictures of a what a PreRunner can do? Please no pictures or comments about what a PreRunner can't do. That's not the point.

I've looked around some and didn't see a thread exactly like this, but if there is one, tell me and I'll shut up.

    Here's a search I did:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/search.php?searchid=251735

    And a thread I found:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/site-suggestions/65246-4x4-vs-prerunner.html

However, I didn't see what I'm looking for - Just a centralized thread on PreRunner abilities without disruptive 4x4 commentary.

(By the way, nothing against all you 4x4 guys and gals out there.)

Look man, I don't mean this in a pissed off way, cause I do agree with you, but not everyone is in the market for a 4x4 truck, if you know what I mean. Some just don't need 4x4, others just want 4x2, and then others just can't afford a 4x4 (like myself). I'd love a 4x4, and I know 4x2 doesn't stack up to 4x4, but let's just get a PreRunner thread.

When I first bought my truck I didn't know I was going to get into off roading. I bought a 2001 prerunner, 2wd, no locker. In the past few years I've really gotten into off roading and my truck holds it's own. I've had many 4x4 guys tell me how surprised they were to see my truck handle the way it does. You definitely need to know your limits otherwise you'll be stuck a lot. Luckily here in So. Cal. there are a lot of options.

Here are some links to some of the runs I did.
