I just installed Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack on my 2002 last night. Really easy and took about 30 minutes. I am also looking to get the safari cage as well. Hope this helps.

DIY Bike Rack. It's still a work in progress. I tested it out this weekend and need to make the clamps on the bar more secure. The idea came from research on DIY projects from truck and MTB forums. I wanted something other than having to take my front tires off everytime I want to take my bikes out. I also take my beach cruisers out so taking front tire off isn't an option.

I thought that might be the case. Here is a similar concept made from PVC. I can't take credit for the design nor picture (not mine) but I built a similar one for storage in my basement. You might be able to hi-jack some ideas from it.

    Make your own Bike Rack

i will put the photos up tonight and i did not paint my grile. I just bought an aftermarket one of ebay that mated perfectly. The one i orignally had that i painted turned to shit cause i live in the northwest and there is sand on the roads and rocks so i got a lot of chips. So i recommend just purchasing a new one IMO.

33x12.50 - 15 is the tire size that i have. I just put the tires on this past weekend but as sooon as i find something out you will know. I had to install a 3" toytec aal lift. I don't have any rubbing going on unless im at full turn and hit a speed bump like in a parking garage or something.

question how did you run the wires for your lights? Did you have to drill into the cab?

The front lights i ran down the driver side of the windshield, the wires fit perfect between the window and some of the weather stripping but I dk how it is on the 1st Gen. However for the lights i have on the back of the rack (2 bed lights/backup light) i wired by running the wire down the backside of the suicide door then under the foot of the door frame where my other wires are running then through the firewall under the steering wheel.

Yes and no. There is not a rack made for it however you can do a custom install using the Thule Tracker system. PM or Email me if you want more info. I have gone over this a bunch of times with my Thule Rep (I am a Thule and Yakima dealer so I bug him a lot).

It was really easy. I purchased it from local bicycle shop. I looked at Yakima web site first so that I knew what to ask for and to make sure I didn't get sold the incorrect parts. The bicycle shop was spot on about knowing what I needed. Besides the qtower sets and the bars I also purchased the set of 6 locks. The 6 locks covered the qtowers and will also cover the cage when I get it.

Cost was about $225 for everything.
