Mice nests and debris in ventilation fan

I everybody, I have a 1998 Tacoma that I like very much. I park outside and this is creating a problem with mice and needles from a nearby white pine: They seem to like to nest or just drop in the fan of the ventilation system. I have already have the dealer mechanic clear the debris twice and now it is clogged again. Unfortunately I have no other place to park the truck, so I would like to do the job myself but have no idea how to. Any suggestion on what to do to fix this nuisance and on a good book that can help me solve this and other problems. Thanks very much.

Hell I'd throw a tarp over it every nite or get an old heavy floormat and cut it to lay across the intake tucking the end into the hood seam for staying. A little trouble but a lot of payoff?

hanks, I'll try to see what I can do. The posted manual also might help. Thanks again.
