I boought the V-LED's and front parking light LED's. Got the winking too whenever I hit the brakes. Corrected that with LED's on the rear. Then that stubborn hyper-blink. Ordered the LED flasher from Superbrite. Still had the hyper-blink. Got to checking, and I need the German rather than the Japanese turnsignal flasher. Imagine that....Corrected and working normal.

The V-LED's match my HID's too. Awesome look.

The V-LED switchbacks have three connections 1. Ground, 2. Turn Signal (on/off with the turn signals), 3. steady 12V (to light up the white LEDs). If you disconnect the turn signal wire, then the bulb should always be white and never go amber.

I take it that if you use a non-dual switching 1157 LED bulb the above also applies.

What bulb fitting type goes in the corner/side? I'm going to put V-LED switchbacks in there- 1157?

I'm not sure I understand your question. If you used the LED equivalent of a non dual bulb, then you would only have one color unless the LEDs were dual color. If that was the case, then you would still need to run the additional 12V wire to have power for when the turn signals aren't on.

168 is the stock corner bulb. 921 and 922 are higher powered versions that plug into the corner socket also. You can search for all three when looking for a LED to go in there. I still run incandescent in the corner (921 18W amber).

It was a bit ambiguous but you confirmed. Instead of the switching LEDs I'm going to use single colour and run the 12v to it.

The online guide says the corners are 4157?

The Sylvania online guide shows both
    "Parking light
    168
168LL SYLVANIA Long Life miniature bulbs perform twice as long as any standard miniature bulb. Designed for durability, lower maintenance and greater safety.
    4157NA"
Don't know why they threw in 4157A at the end. The corner light is the much smaller single filament bulb (168 stock).

Do 4157s go in the tail light- I thought I saw that as well.
If so guess I'll put the 4157s there.

No problems with melting. Since these are LED (both the white and yellow colors), the power draw is low compared to incandescent bulbs. When I first got the bulbs, I measured the current draw. With the white on, they drew 0.17A at 13.5V. That is only about 2.3 Watts. They will be warm to the touch, but they aren't going to melt your lens. If you go and stick a 55W incandescent bulb in there, you would probably make candles out of your lens pretty quick.
