Hi, I'm Marc and new to the forum but have much experience with painting.

Dupli color wont match at at all.. Unless you now someone who paints bring it to a body shop have it done right. It takes alot to paint stuff correctly trust me I have been custom painting for 10 years. You can see some of my work on my website crypticgraphics.com.
Here's a quick description (I still left out things but didnt want it to be to boring) of what a professional painter would have to do:

    1. feather the chipped/scratched areas out with 320g and scuff the area where blending with basecoat/clear.
    2. Use Choice One plastic adhesion on exposed plastic areas and prime with a 2 part primer surfacer.
    3. Sand that out smooth with 600g.
    4. Clean and tack off the part.
    5. Apply 1-2 coats of sealer and follow with basecoat blending it into your original color. (Get mixed paint from your nearst PPG paint shop using the paint code from your truck).
    6. Finally lay down 3 coats of Clear coat let dry
    7. Wetsand and buff to a show finish.

Painting the whole part is usually a bad idea, if you really want it to match the paint on your truck you need to blend it. Even though you use the paint code to get the paint there usually are variances of that color. Sometimes only 1 or 2 but I have seen 6 and 7 before. Thats why blending the new basecoat into the original paint color lets any slight variance flow out nicely and just looks better.

I thought I would just put my 2 cents in Good luck with what ever method you choose to fix your flare.

Here are a couple random things to think about that I thought of while reading the thread.

    1. See if you have uninsured motorist coverage...this should cover a hit and run. (I was ran off the road on my motorcycle, and couldn't prove it cause the **** ran from the scene of the crime...was covered under uninsured motorist coverage).

    2. The paint might have weathered and faded a bit...meaning that if you repainted one...it might be darker than the others.

    3. Be leery of touch-up body shop paint jobs...they can cut corners...and leave you with a job that will peel and screw up in 6 months.

    Eh...just a few opinions.
