6 inch lift

Alright so I was searching around Craigslist and I found an ad for a 6 inch lift from Fabtech. I emailed the guy and he said he's selling it for $300. I figured that would be a pretty good price considering there real expensive brand new. This guy took this lift off his tacoma because he wanted it back down to stock height. I don't do that much off roading and would just love the look of a 6 inch lift. So I have two questions. My first is what do you guys think about the lift (they'll be some pics that he sent me below). Also, right now I have 33's, would these tires look to small with 6 inches of lift. And if I lift my truck 6 inches will I have to tell the insurance company? Thanks ahead of time, here are some pics:

 

I thought if you lifted it 6 inches you couldnt go back?

 

That lift dosent look like its in the best shape, at least the shocks dont. I would at least replace them. I dont think you have to tell your insurance company.

 

You can go back but you have to weld the crossmember back in. It is not easy.

 

Yea I noticed the shocks too, I guess i might have to get some replacments

Personally i dont like the look of a 6 inch lift. 3 inches is perfict on these trucks IMO

 

Its a difficult offer to pass up, so yea, i'll probably go take a look at it. I love the look of 6 inches of lift I also found 4 new shocks for around $120 from Rough Country, so that'll fix that problem

 

An other opinions on this would be great

 

if it we me, i would have everything sand blasted and powder coated along with replacing the shocks

Yep, theres a sandblaster at the shop that I work at so i'll be able to use that, I was actually thinking about Herculing the big new cross member, and maybe rattle canning the rest

 

I would deff go for it. I have a 3 inch lift and wished I could have gone with 6 inch. That kit doesnt look bad. Just clean it up and powercoat them. But deff get new shocks since they always wear out. Congrats on the find!!!

 

If it was me id get it. I mean shoot you got dang near the most expensive parts right there. Buy some new shocks coils get some springs and lose the blocks and you would have one hell of a ride for half the price

The tires will look a little small but not to bad, my borther has a 6inch with 33's i could send you a picture. and it didnt effect his insurance but he has USAA so idk if that changes anything.

Not gonna effect your insurance, and you don't have to report it. Tires will look a little small, but that lift aint gonna do anything for you. Just gonna make the truck top heavy and handle like junk unless you do coilovers.
