What is the story on super chargers? I heard they were discontinued for a while. I also heard if you want to put one on, you gotta pull the bottom end apart to compensate for everything happening up top. I don`t really have a foggy clue about this. I would love to get more horsy`s but I don`t want to wreck my truck. Any one put one on?

Hey Rosco-if you have the V6 your engine is already built to accept a supercharger. The ONLY thing that turned me off to having one is I heard you can get fairly nasty detonation with a supercharger which is one of my absolute peeves. I don't know about you but I haven't heard one 'ping' outa this motor-ever! I have dual cat-back exhaust which brought me from stock 190 HP to 212HP and I'm happy there.

You know it! Even the stock 190 is pretty decent for this size of a truck. Supercharger sounds like a lot of money to spend as well. I think they run around 3-4 grand and then installation. Saving up for cat-back myself. As for the super charger I heard if you want to run one you should have pistons done. Maybe if I ever need a rebuild I might consider it but with a toyota I hope to be waiting a long time. Just curious to see what kind of luck people are having with them.

I know I've seen a few guys that have one here but I've never heard any real raves about it...hmmmm
