Transfer case leak

Hi everyone, i've recently noticed a slight leak coming from the aft transfer case seal. Has anyone here ever changed one? Anything i should look out for?

Those leak all the time, so it's a pretty common problem. Usually it's the seal between the transfer case, and the adapter.

It's a pain to do, but mostly because of the removal of the T/case. Once the case is out of the way, it's pretty easy to change out the seal.

 

yep...getting the transfer case out will be the hardest part. At least its fairly light

 

thanks for the feedback guys. Hopefully i will have the time this weekend to deal with it.

 

So is it usually the seal between the adapter and the T-case? I have a leak and I just cant tell where its coming from. But it looks to me like behind that adapter to t-case seal its all wet with oil.
