If it was done as a warranty repair (like the current 2001 - 2004 program), I don't think it would show up on a CarFax report.

Mine didn't. Ran a CARFAX on my 03 and didn't show. After I bought the truck my mechanic had me look under the truck while on the lift. Everything was new. Frame, Brake lines, bolts, etc. It was very clear it was new. After that I called the dealer and they ran the VIN and told me yes, it was done. I have no faith in CarFax or any others like them. I was very lucky in my case....;)

Call any local dealer. They should have that information in the maintenance records and is accessible to all dealers.

I have a feeling mine was replaced. It still has stickers on it. It will be on the rack in a few days.

Probably would not show up in a CARFAX but since it is a warranty reapair it would show up in the Toyota data base. By running your vin # you could find out from your dealer. Warranty info is the only information that is kept on any vehicle in Toyota's national database.

It's still all good either way. If it was done, great, if it wasn't and needs to, that's still great because you get a free "loaner" while they replace it, and then you'll be set. All nice and new.....:D

Just got back from the dealer. I was told the truck had no frame replacement and that there will be a recall on my truck soon and they will undercoat it with a 15 year warranty. I can live with that.

Sign up on Toyota's web site under for owner's, all the service for my truck from the dealer is listed in there.

Like most other things, I am guessing it would NOT show up in carfax. But I personally believe anyone who only went with a carfax for info on a possible purchase is an absolute idiot.

Brilliant statement. Because ya know, knowing nothing is so much better than the idea that the report may omit something. Well thought out....

    Hmmm
FWIW - I buy new, so I don't ever use Carfax.

Actually I was making the point that anyone who counts on Carfax knowing everything and being their only source of information is not that bright. Carfax won't show you that the dealer bought this car at auction and it had been through a flood or fire or anything else that isn't reported to it. Only things that get on Carfax are things that are reported. I NEVER said know nothing.. that is just you ASSUMING things.

Hey look I found a whole message board talking about this! http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r21765118-Buyer-Beware-Carfax-doesnt-always-offer-all-the-facts
Guess all those posts are rude and pointless too?
