Thinking about this paint job, opinions?

I photoshopped some pics of my truck with a paint job I'm think of doing. This is mostly to fix some damage to the paint on the front. What do you guys think of the design?

 

You gonna run with that theme over the top and on the tailgate? i like the second one better because it looks more complete.

 

Second version looks a bit better but it's still lacking something... center stripe, side stripe, something. Maybe try the same thing on a daylight picture to get a better idea?

 

I'm sorry however from the photos I really can't say that it will be much of an improvement

 

honestly I dont like either one. It looks like the whole truck might need to be painted. Have you gotten any quotes on painting the whole truck ?

 

I would just get the whole truck painted.. Looks cleaner and might as well do it right the first time IMO.

 

Here's some more pics of what I was thinking for paint on the sides, as well as a a couple options for roof paint. I agree that it looked incomplete in the photo's above. Thoughts on these?

The fender flare area's would actually be flares, rather then paint.

 

I would just get the entire truck re-painted a color you like. And keep it cleen with black fender flares. It would look alot better. Too much going on, doesn't look good. IMO

 

yeah just paint it all. IMO it would look like crap if you had new stripes on top of hazing paint.

 

Actually, the paint on the roof isn't hazed. The clear coat is just thin. You can't see any difference in the paint with the human eye. Camera's can see non-visible light though.

 

bed liner on the rocker. ok.. everything else no go imho

 

Took a close look at the paint while giving my truck a bath today. There are way to many little chips all over it for it to be practical to just do chip repair. I'll be getting the whole thing painted. Thanks for the opinions everybody.

Sorry to be blunt, but IMHO it looks too much like you tried to cover something up that you didn't have the money to do right yet. But if you can't afford to do it right yet, you're onto at least thinking about doing what you can, kudos for that.

 

That is exactly what I was trying to do. I really like the way the paint on the hood came out, but really there is to much damage to do spot fixing or even small area covering.

Not exactly. It's an original vector based image I made in the same style. More as a proof of concept for converting anime type drawings into vector images. I've been using it for a few years on some other forums.

I can send you the .svg's if you like.

 

Honestly I wouldn't know what to do with them LOL. I'm a hardware / networking guy. Software gives me a headache!
