Stepside or fleetside, it'll look awesome with a lift. Depending on how much you lift it (there are lots of options available) it may make your tires look small. If that is what you mean when you say "will it look weird", yeah I guess it may look a little weird to have a huge lift (3" or more) and stock sized wheels and tires.

What size tire is on it now?

If your tire size is 265/70/16 or 31x10.5/15 and you put a small amount of lift on it, it will still look fine.

dang dude thats clean! i like the way it looks lifted alot. Mine isn't 4x4, i looked for a year at tacomas and it was so hard to find a descent one with low miles so i was a little bumbed but im still happy. do you think i could just do a spindle lift or would i need to do the suspension as well?

its a stepside, it has tiny ass wheels on it so the tires right now are 215/70R14.

Well, your tire options are definitely going to be limited by the wheel size you have. Doesn't look like there are a lot of choices for 14's. 15's will give you many more tire options.

What is the purpose of the lift for you? Do you plan on offroading it or just want to get it off the ground?

If you just want some more elevation for looks and "light" use just do a spindle. It will keep the stock ride quality and is fairly cheap.

If you plan on using the lift then go LT. These trucks have a huge issue with the Lower BJ bracket breaking. The only way to eliminate it is a decent LT kit or a custom lower arm. I broke 4 of these in under a year before I just went LT. Wish I had done that from the start.

Honestly, Yes. Luckily I broke all 4 not offroading. 2 broke at at under 40mph and then a few months ago I broke the other 2.

The last 2 I broke were both fairly new with under 20k on them with minimal offroading, mainly just dirt roads out hunting and such. I Never jumped my truck or did anything that would compromise that part.

On the last incident I was doing about 75 on the freeway when my passenger side broke. It sent me shooting across the freeway and up onto an embankment. Luckily the Drivers side broke too or I would have likely rolled. The impact also tore the Tig Welds on my Custom Uniball UCA's.

This part is not meant to handle offroading and such, That is why most all LT kits eliminate it. Older Total Chaos kits used this part however they quickly realized their screw up and have since redesigned their arms.
