Hahaha, I'd kill for the first ever truck I rode in on the way from the hospital. My Dad's 1994 Toyota Tacoma reg cab. It was awesome and I wish I had it now.

I agree.

I drive an 11 and a half year old POS truck (IMO, of course). The bit where my parents helped me, is by buying it and letting me drive it while I worked towards paying it off. Due to events outside my control, I've been in and out of work. My parents are nice enough to put a hold on my payments while I'm unemployed...which btw, I fucking hate, because I want to get this POS paid off as soon as I can, so I can truly and hostly call it mine. I also pay for my gas and insurance. Grant it, when I am unemployed, my parents do cut me some slack and help me out, but I still hate it. I hate when I can't afford to pay for this shit. My truck is pretty much stock. Any minor mods it's got either came with the truck when I bought it, or were extremely cheap or free. I do not plan to do any major mods. I plan to replace what's necessary to keep this POS rolling and that's it, unless there are very minor cheap mods I feel like doing for fun. I do also have some buyers remorse....I wish I got an older cheaper, shittier truck so I could have it paid off sooner and so I can do whatever I want with after. For now, I'll stick with it in hopes that I can work and pay it off sometime in the near future. I rarely wheel my truck, simply because I can't afford a breakage. I have gone on three trips for wheeling, and that's it. I know there are parents out there who enjoy giving their kid a $30k+ first car to drive. I get it. 90% of the kids at my school are fortunate enough to be in that situation. Hell, there are kids at my school who drive cars that are valued at $70k+ and $50k+. I am glad I get to pay for mine. Because in the end, I feel I am better off that way.

And now for a pic....
