Clutch pedal !!!!

Hi all,

I have a 2004 tacoma trd Sr5 v6 xtra cab with a 5 speed that has 140,000 miles on it. Last week the clutch pedal started making noise every time it was pushed and released. Come to find out the 2 plastic flange bearings in the pedal frame that are used to isolate the return spring have worn out. Does any one have a site where I can order these? Don't want to go to the stealer ship yet. I still need my arm and leg. LOL

Thanks

Vince

That's a very common problem on the tacos. Here is a write up on the fix.

For the '96 in the article, the part was: Toyota Part #90389-05017

Mine started squeaking also. But it was a simple fix. I determined the noise was outside. I pin pointed the problem, it was the slave cylinder. I just sprayed the little rubber boot on the slave cylinder and the noise went away.

Hey,

I went to the stealership and paid about 2.50 for each of the bushings, 3 in total. One for the pedal to the spring and two for the spring to pedal bracket. You can find them cheaper online but time you pay postage & handling it will probably be more. It took them two days to get and the job took twenty minutes. Worked like a charm by the way, no more pedal noise.
