I have done a little research on the web and I believe Ford's intention is to eventually phase out the ranger once the F100 goes into production.

Yeah, to clarify i love my Tacoma but i am dissapointed that it is lacking in some key areas and for the premium you pay....Hopefully toyota will remedy these issues for the Gen3 Taco

Good choice! I've had 5 F-150s over the years and they've all been very reliable trucks with few problems. My last one, an'05 Lariet, came with leather and about every option, I think all the lariet's do.

I wish they got better mileage tho.....

I have a first gen, and havent had any problems...

I really dont even read much about the 2nd gens.....so im really not up to date with the problems that they have, bc i really dont have any intentions of upgrading anytime soon.

Congrats man, I have quite a few buddies with the F-150's

Needless to say that they're nice trucks and have ALOT of potential.. And like all cars- You take care of it, and it will take care of you.

Don't ya love people that flame you for buying a Ford over a Toyota but don't read the entire post? Like the part at the end where you say "I'm keeping my first gen tacoma".

I'd say if you need the space, go up to fullsize. F150 and Tacoma can't really compare...thats what the Tundra's for. Even then you'll be paying probably more or less closer to $40k...and by that time you're in the Raptors price range.

No problems with my 05. 147,900 miles. Only repair was a universal joint coming apart a few weeks ago.

Good luck with your F150. I had a Ranger back in the mid 90's. In and out of the shop from 60,000 miles till I dumped it at 85,000 miles.

Yeah just get the Raptor lol. JK f-150 will do you good... for a full size truck... And I hate to say it, but just coming on TacomaWorld, it seems like the 2nd gens do have some simple problems
