I paid $12,500 OTD. This included a high 9+% tax.

I probably paid $1,000 more then I wanted to pay for this truck but its a hard truck to find and I knew what color, etc I wanted.

Dude, almost identical to mine. Yes, these things fetch a premium all over California, and I think you did OK for this highly popular spec. Remember, you will get at least another 200K miles out of it...:D

I had to find one fast when my 93 was totalled. After seeing all the stories here about multi-month searches to find "the right truck," I think I got lucky; I found and bought mine within 3 weeks (before I had to return the free rental car and start really suffering).

I have been almost completely through it on the service items and on annoying details like window trim, cup holder flaps, dash bulbs, etc. About start on the very tired suspension (leafs, coils, billies). I'll be happy to help with any questions....

BTW, I highly recommend the Redline MT90 GL4 manual transmission/T-case oil (that I learned about on this site, thank you TW). It noticeably smoothed my shifting.

i dont mean to thread jack or anything but I noticed you said factory tow hitch...

how can I obtain a factory tow hitch with wiring?

I really want one of these!

BTW super clean truck man, I very recently picked up my tacoma trd, but it has more miles, no bed extender, and no tow hitch, other than that its pretty clean though

    great find!

I might just get mobil 1 for the diffs and transfer case and Redline or Amsoil for the manual tranny. I have not decided. I just dont want to spend an arm and a leg on shipping/oil. This method might be more cost affective for me.

The OEM harness connects under the drivers seat if I recall correctly. What I would do is buy the factory harness from Toyota and an aftermarket hitch. No reason to buy a hitch from Toyota, just the harness so you don't have to cut and tap into any wires.

is it possible to buy the factory hitch though...

Im really like brands to match...I know its really stupid, but I guess Im kind of OCD about that stuff...

it even bugs me that I use a K&N air filter but its just that much better that it would be stupid not to!

I specifically chose the Redline MT90 because I wasn't happy with the shifting. I was able to find it at a local hot rod store. I bet you could find it pretty easily in Orange County by calling around so you don't have to have it shipped.

After much deliberating and research, I just ended up using Valvoline dinosaur gear oil in the diffs because it cost half as much as Mobile 1 and my truck is not being used for towing (yet) or lots of hard service offroading. IMHO, synthetic in the diffs is a bit of a luxury, and the regular service spec. and interval is fine. If you don't take those fill and drain flugs off every 30K, they weld themselves on. And hell, if you offroad and immerse the diffs a lot, they should be serviced even more frequently, which would mean throwing money away on synthetics, I think.

I prefer to use that money to put Mobil 1 in the engine...

I had the Toyota all weather mats in my 2001. They worked great. Mine started wearing where the drivers heal goes after a while, but that can be expected. They did keep the carpet clean and would trap the dirt.

Well I got the truck from Anderson Toyota in Lake Havasu AZ. So it was a 4.5 hour drive from my house. If this truck was at a Toyota Dealership in CA it would of gone for around from $15,000-17,000.
