taking emblems off

anyone know an easy way, are they bolted or glued?

don't think a heat gun is a good choice. it could damage the paint if left in one spot too long. i used hair drier, fishing string and goo gone.

 

I just used my finger nail and they pealed right off. Then i used some OOPS to take off the glue. Fishing line works well to.

 

ok well i have a trd sticker on there too, use a blow dryer with that too?

 

Unless your a complete tool a heat gun is safe and is the effective solution for removing badges. Ask any professional tint, pinstripe, or decal installer. You can get a pretty cheap one at Home Depot for about $20 I belive the brand is called Watson. Anyways you just give it a couple swipes with the heat on to heat up the adhesive on the emblem and it will come right off. You can use your finger nail and fishing line, then use 3M adhesive remover, some rubbing compound, and an orbital buffer to get the residue underneath off.

 

You can use a heat gun just be careful. That is the easiest way to get the TRD decale off.

 

For badges: park in the direct sun when it's hot out. Get 10# test fishing line and run it between the badge and body. Make sure to clean the area around/on the badge so you don't scratch the paint. Use Goo Gone (or something like it) to remove the residual adhesive. Wash after all adhesive is gone. Then wax

Sticker decal: Get one of those eraser wheels. They work awesome.

thanks for the help guys, i got all the emblems off, i can see there the emblems used to be because of the paint fading a bit but i think after a clay bar and some wax it will be hardly noticeable
