I'm looking for a write up on how to do a timing belt change on a 2001. I have seen the links for a 1996 and read them. There are a few different things on the 01 and was wondering if anyone has seen a write up thats closer to my year. Thank you in advance.

And if your curious my truck has 201k miles on it and this is my first timing belt and water pump change. No oil leaks or water problems. Just routine maintenance. 90k is way to early for me.

201k miles? You must have a four cylinder? If so, then you have a timing chain which doesn't require replacement.

I can see the stock belt going those miles on a V6. I had 140K when I did my first belt and the belt had no signs of wear

It's not crazy:D. My old 93 I went 200K on the belt and that belt looked great when I took it out. I won't do anohter on my until 01 around 300K:D nothing will hit on the 01 if it breaks

Yes my truck is a V6 and completely stock with 201k. Which also means, no I havent ever changed the stock belt. I bought my truck new and take good care of it. My secret to good belt life is that I also keep the engine compartment clean from dirt, grime, oil or other type of FOD build up. Keeping the engine compartment clean prevents your belt from having premature or excessive wear. I'll take pictures of the engine copartment and replacement parts and post them online at the end of my project to support my theory on long life engines. I have the belt aready exposed and am looking for a good write up for a '01 replacent. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
