    Since they log the vin, I am guessing that Toyota figures that Tacomas bought in the south most likely won't be moved up north...where the salt and snow will affect the frame. Maybe you can call around to other Toyota dealerships to see what they say about it.

    I'll bank on the recall + inspection = remedy from Toyota should it become an issue in the future.
