So I have this rubber pad that came with my radar detector as an alternative to the usual suction cup mounting method. I used this detector and sticky pad for 2 years in my old car, as well as on other occasions in 5-6 other vehicles with no issues.

However today I went to move it and when i peeled it off the dash it took quite a bit of the dash paint with it.

Any suggestions? and/or what are my options for fixing it?

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
Get a dash mat like me so the sun don't reflect into your eyes...win win.

That SEM paint is great. I used it on my 86 Chevy trucks door panels. Maybe use the clear on it as well. But you can't go wrong with a dashmat, mine had one on when i bought it and it has grown on me.

Yup. Use SEM Vinyl Prep, Adhesion promoter, and then SEM Vinyl Paint.

I painted my dirtbike seat black and it stayed on for awhile, but it would have stayed forever if I prepped it right.

Is there a particular brand of dash mat that you guys would suggest?

Got a picture of it installed in a tacoma?

The fucking same thing happened to me. I had the stupid mat on the dash for about a week.

I got some vinyl spray paint that was close and re-sprayed it.

I can get you a pic, it is custom fitted to the Tacoma dash and is held down with Velcro but it is made by dashmat.
