Factory Tire Size

Another newbe question. I went to check what air pressure to put in my tires. Looked at the drivers side inside door sticker. It gave P-275-75R-15 psi and info on those tires. But the tires and wheels on my 03 PreRunner Limited 4 door 2 WD are 265/70 R-16 with Toyota wheels. I noticed the 16 in tires when I bought the truck and was expecting to find info of the same on the inside door sticker. Do some of the PreRunner Limited, come with the larger tires and wheels, or is this something the owner added? The truck has 67,000 miles and tires appear to be 2nd set of tires. I like the larger tires and the look it gives. Just wondering how the larger tire/wheels affect the speedometer. Faster/Slower more/less miles on truck? Anything else it could affect? Thanks.

Look for another sticker somewhere in the door jamb. My truck has 2 different stickers for wheel and tire sizes.

 

I'm guessing those are 'original', because 265/70/16 tires on 16" alloys were a standard part of the Limited Package in 2003. That wheel / tire combo was also a standalone option on Double Cabs that year.

 

Thanks for the help ISU Fan. This KU fan would of been bit ,if that other door sticker was a snake. About 2" above the other one. It says cold 26 psi in all tires. Seems a little low, but I guess they know best. Must make for a better ride. Thanks again.

 

I ran my tires at 26 psi for a 1,200 mile trip and got 14.5 mpg each fuel-up. Bad idea. I run 32 in all my tires now.
