2001 quad cab seems to bottom out

My wife and I took my truck out to eat last night and she kept telling me everytime we hit a bump it was rough as ____. I started noticing it feels like the truck is bottoming out over rough roads. I push down on the front and back shocks and they seem fine. Any idea on how to make this better. Rick

i bet your leafs are flat. ....maybe time to upgrade.

 

Not to threadjack.. but how would I tell if the leafs on my truck are gone? They are pretty much parallel to the ground. I'm not really sure if they are supposed to be a "smile" or not. I'm still using the OEM shocks at 94K miles

 

You need new leafs toytech has some for like 70 bucks. really good deal!

I think once your leafs are flat, they're pretty much done for. Adding a new leaf may be a temp fix, but without the main leafs supporting it, I think it'd just end up flattening out pretty quick as well.

 

It's time to do the suspension. I would look into some new coil springs, shocks and leaf pack. Since you need a spring compressor for the front to do the shocks...I would just do the coils now to avoid having to do the alignment twice.

Ok thanks for the info... I'm trying to avoid turning this vehicle into another mod project...buuuuut since i'm gonna tear things apart might as well lift it, I guess....

 

All I found were AALs for +/-$70.
