Removing manual window regulator?

I just purchased some replacement speakers for the right & left front doors and will have to remove the entire panel on the doors to get to the old speaks'. I can see where all the screws are to remove the panel(s) but how do I go about removing the window regulator arm (little arm to roll windows down)? I haven't really attempted to try but assume someone on here has an easy way of doing it before I try it myself and break the damn thing. Thanks!

 

If Toyota hasn't changed the design from the 1991's it's easy.

Take a rag and get an edge between the crank and the door panel. Then pull the ends back and forth. More and more of the cloth will work it's way in gently pushing the handle off the shaft it's attatched to. When you reassemble the door the handle just pops right back in place.

 

I've got a 97 model and the rag trick is how i got mine off. Make sure your windows are either up or down so you can make the driver and passenger side in the same position when you reinstall them.

 

So two things are preventing this dang panel from coming off. (1) Window regulator, and (2) the door handle. I will attempt the rag method but I am still a little confused on how I am to remove the handle. This is such a pain in my ass. Why couldnt they have made the speaker more accessable. I will search the net to see if I can shed some extra light on this.

(Chris4x4) - would I be able to determine whether or not it is a "C" clip design by looking at it or is there another way to determine this? Also, if it is indeed a "C" clip design, how would I go about removing it?

The "cloth" trick was super easy and worked just fine. Thanks Chris4x4 and thanks to everyone else for the help.

Quick summary: Took 2 flat head screw drivers and wedged them in on the sides creating a smally gap between the panel and the arm itself. Took a small piece of cloth, worked it in from the bottom and started working the cloth back and forth like a saw. Continued to work back and forth while pulling slightly upward and the clip exposed itself enough for me to take needle nose and pull it straight out. After clip is out the arm pops right off.
