Radiator Replacing fan with Electric Fan

Ive been doing some research and foud this:

I installed it in May (with pics from my post) and I'm on my 6th full tank of gas since install. More throttle response especially freeway speeds, better mpg... sorry no numbers only the fact that I fill up less often with my tank taking me farther. Simple straight forward and I think it was about 2 hours for install but that number may be less since I also replaced my radiator and thermostat too. Worth the money.

 

I been wanting to do this, suppose it couldn't hurt on a 2nd gen too

 

Awsome, thanks for the pics! That fan is pretty dam'ed expensive! How was the difficulty level for the install? Any mods you had to do or was it a simple bolt on. Also, how did you adjust the temp thresh holds for the fan (or do they come pre-adjusted)?

 

Installation is simple. One thing that may be different from my install is that I had the radiator removed which gave me more space to work with. Shouldn't make that much difference. As for the adjustable thermostat........ I tinkered with it a few times and found that it works just fine dead center. Since the probe for the thermostat needs to be within the specified 18 inches of the radiator, I mounted my thermostat control box onto the heat shield of my CAI since the firewall would have placed it further than 18 inches. Other than that, I like the fact that replacement parts are available for this fan. Hope this is of some help.

Got Taco? - which kit did you get? looks like you have the aluminum brackets vs the plastic ones

 

I have the Flex-a-lite 675. It came with the double aluminum brackets.

how do you find the thermostate and the themp sensor?

 

I'm currently piecing together a Ford Mark 8/ Thunder bird 2 speed fan swap. Got the fan already just need the Relay from "The Hollister Road Company." And I'm debating on making a custom aluminum shroud or just use the stock plastic one and cut the ford fan up to fitting.

The thermostat controller and the temp probe came with the fan as a complete kit from Summit Racing when I ordered it.
