Help! Axle issues and toyotas flawed design...

So i have a 98 non abs with a Elocker right, i order the non abs Elocker axle shafts from trail gear thinking why wouldn't that work? apparently in a 98 the genius designer changed the axle housing so it is a abs axle with a plug where the abs line goes. so needless to say my truck is sitting on blocks and im out $300 unless i can somehow miraculously find a non abs axle housing for cheap or a whole axle. Does anyone know what the difference in the elocker/non elocker shafts are if they both are for a abs housing?

that sucks, just return the parts and get the right stuff. Costly mistake for sure...

 

Did you check these things before you ordered? If trail gear directed you to a non abs axle I would think they should be able to help you out with swapping out the right stuff

 

trail gear doesn't make a axle for a abs truck or one like mine that has a abs axle but non abs you have to buy their housing.
it doesn't make sense to me why Toyota would change to a different housing if the truck doesn't have abs? seems to me like they didnt need to change that.

 

But how is this a flawed design? You just didnt notice it
