I have a 96 xtra cab 4x4,V-6,5sp. Of course my question has to do with the lack of a tachometer. I have found a cluster from a 96,V-6 with an automatic transmission. Is this really going to matter? The gear indicator is in the console anyway. I have researched other threads and everyone has said to find the same size engine and a few have said to find the same tranny also. I don't really want to add an external tach if I can help it. All input would be greatly appreciated.

Well upon further research I have discovered that the gear indicator is in the cluster. So, either the one that I have found for sale is not from an automatic or it varies by model.I think it I will order it and try it. If it doesn't work I can always re-sell it.
