Starter Busted

Okay, finally got to my starter today to replace the contacts. I couldn't figure out how to get the thing out of the bottom. While trying I flexed the metal dipstick pipe that connects to the pan and caused a small fracture and leak under the flange. I JB welded the inside- starter didn't work when I hooked it up so I'm having to take it off again. Any ideas on fixing the pan or a replacement?

I got a rebuilt toyota starter from a local shop for 100 dollars .
Traded in my core.
There is a a DIY guide up somewhere search around ttora (google ttora starter rebuild) .
Or someone might chim in.

 

I'm worried about the JB Weld patch on my tranny pan. Anyone know where I can get a replacement? I'm gonna have to take the starter in to get it rebuilt like I shoulda done in the first place! Could not figure out how to get it out without dropping the pan.

 

Try a junk yard?
I was able to get my starter out after taking the front driver wheel off ,then removed the thing to keep the bottom of the engine clean (the black liner thing).
Then loosened up some of the lines (didn't bend the metal just unscrewed base holding them) ,stuck my hand in undid the bolts , cursed a lot did lots of turning and twisting to get the starter out from the location. It unbolts and slides out from the car but getting it past the hardlines and tight space is a pain. Was worried about bending something too.
You wire up the starter correctly?

n0ms, Thanks for the advice. I found a guy that is going to TIG weld it for me- I'll update my progress.

Yeah, the starter was a pain. The wire on the bottom (small wire) would slide back in the plug but not lock. Could this be the problem? I figured it wasn't since and can't carry much amperage. I'm going to take the starter off after work and take it in to be checked.
